Generic Advice

We will start first by giving generic advice that anyone can use. Good advice is worth zero if you can use it fine because your brain has zero knowledge about what to do with it so here is some.

  • Always aim to survive
    • It doesn't matter if you've the best attack around and the enemy dies to it, if you also die to a simple "punch in the face", you suck. Learn to survive better than the enemy and only use your best "moves" when you're safe to do that. If you can kill and survive, you're better than the enemy no matter what they do and cry.
  • Learn to master the power of swapping gear with a couple of keys pressed
    • As much as you may hate it, swapping to the right gear is the way to win most of the time [there are some occasions where this is false but that's because of an extreme stack of reductions or spawn control] where because you're countering the damage of the enemy. See it as the start to a big win against someone that thinks that is amazing. It doesn't matter if you've the best gears, if you can't counter something, you fail and die.
  • Learn to use commands
    • The game has some useful commands, learn to key them to some alt+m keys and use them to your benefit overall.
  • Sound effects are live saviours, sometimes
    • You may not use them but they actually have some cool effects. One of the most known uses is to use them to detect enemies like an assassin cross or a stalker without Maya Purple Card when they use -100% Water or -100% Earth reduction gears because the sound made is different from a miss.
  • Learn to keep your mouth closed after a defeat
    • We all know how hard is to make that happen but if you're able to do that, you're able to enjoy the game. One defeat can mean a lot inside but if you can accept it and improve after it, you can end being better than the enemy and see that the one crying is the guy that killed you before.
  • Remember that nobody is invincible, there is no perfect build
    • Ignoring the fact that some people use third party programs to win and is hard to do anything against them, you can always win against someone no matter what. It may be hard in some cases but if you find a way around, you can save that way to yourself and use it to your benefit. Defeat doesn't mean that you lost the war, it means that you just lost a fight to come back stronger after analysing the battlefield.
  • Stay sharp, keep your eyes open to everything
    • If you have notion of where you and your enemy are, you can control the place and know what to do and when to do.
  • Ignore DEF and MDEF for PVP/WoE
    • It may look stupid for some but it's true. If you think about it, the damage that they reduce is actually too small since those playgrounds are mostly made of ranged dmg, misc dmg, magic damage and other stuff that ignore DEF/MDEF. You may ask "what about that magic damage?" and I answer you "sorry, you already died to that Sharp Shooting while you were using those 99 MDEF and asking me about it". You may also ask "hey, you forgot Sonic Blow!", hey, you're actually right but the damage that they reduce is junk, it's better to just guess the element being used and play with cards/gears instead to survive or just default a Glorious Set, Thara Frog Bradium Shield and other reduces like that while praying that the damage is not high enough to kill you.
  • Try to be better, play without potions at PVP and PVM, play with friends
    • I admit it, it may be hard for a lot of people and specially for some Asura Champs or Sacrifice Paladins but the others can try that to maximize their gameplay being it solo or team one. If you can handle a bit more without them, you can play better since you can handle things also better. I know that this isn't like any MOBA game or similar games but being the best is actually fun at PVP and stealing MVPs from others at PVM the same.
  • High ASPD and 149 DEX do magic
    • You won't believe it before trying, trust me. 150 DEX, 170 ASPD and spam something inside Bragi. Repeat it now but with 149 DEX with 170 ASPD and see the difference. Add more aspd by also casting the Assassin Cross of Sunset Song and see more magic.
    • The trick is simples, the 149 DEX on Bragi makes your animation never end so you're constantly cutting it out when it's near done. The APSD makes this be faster and easier to do so you're cutting even more animation making this look like insane. A quick way to notice this easy is by using Soul Breaker with an Assassin Cross, the animation will be really small with 190 ASPD compared to one of 160 ASPD.
